Top 10 Shortlisting

All eligible entries are reviewed, and a Top 10 shortlist is created for each award category. Shortlisted entrants are officially recognised as Africa Tourism Awards Top 10 Finalists.

Top 10 finalists enjoy the following:

- Evaluation, Inspection & Assessment Finalists undergo category-specific evaluation:
Hospitality categories (e.g. hotels, resorts, lodges) provide a complimentary two-night stay for appointed inspectors, who assess the experience against predefined criteria. Airlines provide a complimentary flight for assessment like hospitality categories.
Media and content categories submit a piece of work produced within the awards window for professional review.
Other categories may be assessed through documentation review, interviews, site visits, or virtual assessments, as applicable

Final scores are determined using a weighted system. Judges and Awards College members will have access to reports from assessments to guide their voting:

Awards Gala & Winners Announcement

Winners are officially announced and presented with the Balearica statuette at the Africa Tourism Awards Gala Dinner, attended by industry leaders, media, sponsors, and global stakeholders.
