To uphold these values, the selection of winners is guided by a two-tiered evaluation system that combines industry expertise and collective insight: the Balearica Awards College and a panel of Awards Judges. Membership of the Balearica Awards College is restricted to tourism industry stakeholders whose experience and insights would be crucial as they score nominees based on the set awards criteria. Confirmed judges for the 2025 edition of awards include Stella Appenteng (Apstar Tours), Fiona Angelico (Deputy Director, Skål International), Larch Gauld (Travel Writer, Silver Nomad), Liz Tapawa (Director of Sales & Marketing, Hilton Garden Inn Nairobi Airport), and Oluwaseyi Adegoke Adeyemo (Inside Watch Africa).

As a vital component of the Africa Tourism Awards, the College plays a crucial role in ensuring credibility, inclusivity, and industry-led insight throughout the awards process.
